Welcome to PLAY, the final module of our THINK, WORK and PLAY like a Futurist course. As in all the previous lessons, there is an intro video and a podcast style audio on top of each page.
PLAYING LIKE A FUTURIST
Before you dive in, what do we mean by PLAY? Well, this is where the real WORK of a futurist begins. It’s where you get practical and work creative with the Kjaer Global toolkit. And if you haven’t tried out our Learning Style Test yet, then there is still time.
As with the other modules, we have structured the lessons into:
BASIC: NEED TO KNOW. Learn the core principles from our bite-sized lessons, videos or podcasts.
CURIOUS: NICE TO KNOW. Read all the course material and engage in all exercises for a medium proficiency level.
DEEP DIVE: TAKE IT FURTHER. Read widely and workshop the exercises. Why not, connect or practice with fellow students – every encounter helps you adopt and refine your newfound futurist skills.
What to expect from PLAY
In PLAY your put all your learning from the previous modules into effect. You will get know our toolkits work and the rationale behind them. In effect you will get the most out of PLAY if you have fully engaged with all the content of THINK and WORK. Having the right mindset and asking the right questions are essential to PLAY freely and in an unconstrained way. Remember the Serious Play TED video? Why not watch it again? This will help you unpack the idea of PLAY and set the mood.
PLAY takeaway
Once you have finish this module, you will be familiar with the essential Futurist Toolkit: The Trend Atlas, Trend Cards, Trend Compass and other key tools in the toolbox. You will know the basics of trend mapping, scenario planning and conclude the course with your final coursework. Once you are done you will be ready to THINK, WORK, PLAY and PRACTICE like a futurist!
